Walt's Vinyl Albums
Walt's Vinyl Albums is about vinyl albums from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. I have rebranded and changed the name from Vinyl Bound. In it, I explore the creation of some of the most iconic albums ever created. Just like before, I dive deep into the passion behind the music. Welcome.

Why I'm Abandoning Video for the Original Podcast Experience
What makes a podcast a podcast? After much consideration, I'm taking Waltz Vinyl Albums back to its audio roots. The decision to drop video wasn't made lightly, but came with the realization that true podcasting deserves to honor its heritage as an audio-first medium.
Did you know the concept of podcasting might have originated with Lucille Ball? Before "podcasting" was coined by British broadcaster Ben Hammersley (combining "iPod" and "broadcast"), there was "audio blogging." Lucille Ball pioneered this format with "Let's Talk With Lucy," interviewing countless celebrities in what could be considered the first true podcast. This fascinating history reinforced my decision to embrace audio-only content creation.
The benefits are numerous. Video editing consumes excessive time and resources that could be better spent crafting compelling vinyl stories. Audio allows you to listen while commuting, exercising, or relaxing without being tethered to a screen. There's something beautifully intimate about the audio experience—your imagination fills in the visuals while my voice guides the journey through vinyl culture and music history. With weekly episodes now available across all major platforms—Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, and many more—finding Waltz Vinyl Albums has never been easier. Search "Waltz Vinyl Albums" wherever you get your podcasts, and join me in celebrating the true spirit of podcasting. After all, if it's on video, is it really a podcast? Keep spinning those albums loudly and proudly!
Walt's Vinyl Albums podcast is on 14 other podcast stations including, iHeart Radio, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Podcast Addict, Deezer, and many more. You can contact us via email at: walter@waltsvinylalbums.com
Hello everybody and welcome to Waltz Vinyl Albums. Now you're probably wondering where the video is. Well, I've decided not to do video anymore. Why make people suffer with my ugliness when you can just be drawn to my awesome voice? Anyway, I've got some great vinyl stories coming your way. But I want you to know I'm all over the internet on podcasts and I think podcast is better.
Speaker 1:If you know anything about the history of podcasting, I've simply made up my mind that I'm going back to the original podcasting method. The word podcast means just that podcast. In the earliest days it was called audio blogging and I believe the first real podcast was created by an idea by Lucille Ball when she recorded let's Talk With Lucy and it was on ABC or NBC and she interviewed plenty of real high-profile stars. They had a blast. So, if you look that up, let's talk to Lucy. British broadcaster Ben Hammersley first used the term podcast to describe this new type of content. The terms combine the words iPod and broadcast, hence the name podcast.
Speaker 1:I'm going to stick to the original idea. It takes up less time, my beautifully ugly face doesn't have to be involved and besides that the editing is ridiculous and time-consuming on video. There are billions of people in this world who would much rather listen. If only we go back to the original podcast concept. I am now a firm believer that if a podcaster does a video, it is not a podcast. Call it a talk show or something, but it's not a podcast. Anyway, I just wanted to keep you guys up to date. You can check me out on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music Podcast Index, iHeartRadio, Podcast, Addict, Listen Notes, Deezer Player, FM Podcast Cast, Pocket Casts, I mean all kinds of them. So just type in waltz vinyl albums and you will find me out there. Thank you, folks, for listening. I'm gonna put out a brand new podcast once a week, so don't forget, spin those albums loudly and proudly. Thank you.
